When the Lipscomb men’s basketball hits the court for the 2015-16 campaign it will be with some much-needed depth in the post as head coach Casey Alexander has signed 7-foot-2 center David Wishon to a National Letter of Intent.

“We’re excited about David and what he brings to our basketball team,” said Alexander.
“He brings us real depth at the center position and his size will obviously be an asset. David is eager for an opportunity to make a significant contribution and we think he can give us that.”

The brother of rising junior Brett Wishon, David Wishon comes to Lipscomb after three seasons at the College of Charleston and one year at Tulsa. With the Cougars, he averaged 11.5 minutes per game over the past two seasons and was a proficient shot blocker down low.

“What an awesome experience it will be for Brett and David,” said Alexander. “To play with your brother at the highest level of college basketball is a unique experience. I hope they both make the most of the opportunity.”

Like his brother Brett, David played one year of postgraduate basketball at Fork Union Military Academy before signing with Tulsa where he played in 14 games as a true freshman before transferring to College of Charleston.

Having already completed his degree, David will be eligible to play immediately this fall due to the NCAA graduate transfer rule.
